Carnegie Candlelit Celebration Thursday 31 March

Lambeth has confirmed that Carnegie Library, along with Minet Library, will close on Thursday 31 March.

The Friends’ work will continue, though now as a campaign to have our library reinstated at the earliest opportunity.  While this is not the end of the library or the Friends, it does seem a good time to celebrate our achievements over the past seventeen years.

Everyone who has taken part in or supported our campaign so far is invited to a party in the library from 4.00 – 6.00pm on Thursday.  Loyal Friends, volunteers (cake bakers, gardeners, etc) and members of the Carnegie Library Users Consultative Group will be very welcome.  Some refreshments will be provided but please bring food to share.

At 6.00 we will hold a candlelit vigil on the front steps.  Some lanterns and tealights will be available; more would be welcome.
