Free drama and heritage workshops: capture your memories of 1970s Brixton

Older People & Performers 50+ wanted who remember Brixton in the 1970’s

  • Have memories of Brixton in the 1970s?
  • Want to build and develop your skills in drama, theatre & performing?
  • Would you like to take part in creative workshops that lead towards a performance?
  • Want to get involved in local Brixton heritage?

Longfield Hall is looking for people aged 50+ who have memories of Brixton in the 1970’s for a free drama and heritage course.

Workshops start on the 11th September and run from 12pm – 3pm every Wednesday until 23rd October 2019.

There are 2 performances booked for the 25th & 31st October 2019.

The free course will explore the history of trail blazing Black-led theatre company Dark & Light who were based in Longfield Hall in the early 1970’s.

You’ll get chance to reminisce and learn some interviewing skills. The course will be led by arts practitioner Tony Cealy. It’s a great opportunity to learn about local history whilst having fun and making new friends.
