How to Prune Fruit Trees – Training in the Orchard at the End of Wyck Garden Saturday 14 Jan 1.30pm
This Saturday the orchard in Wyck Garden will be getting a lot of attention when we Wassail the orchard and prune our trees at this fun, FREE event that celebrates the ancient wassailing custom of gathering to sing songs to ward of evil spirits and tempt a good harvest.
The Campaign For Real Wassail will be leading the way from the farm with their pipes and fiddles at 12.30 pm to the orchard where there’ll be songs and celebrations with hot spicy apple juice and homemade apple cakes, before our farm project co-ordinator, Emily will gives us a short pruning session demonstrating how best to ensure strong growth and good harvest.
