Kids’ Whirled launches on 28 September – a new programme of film screenings and activities for children and their families in your own local cinema!
Screenings take place weekly on Saturdays at 3pm, term-time from autumn till summer at the Whirled Cinema, 259-260 Hardess St, SE24 0HN.
Kids’ Whirled films are selected by our education coordinator across genres — World, European, independent and mainstream — and organised by seasons that draw connections between different cultures and ways of life. From ‘Children All Over The World’ and ‘Films From Books’ to ‘Friends or Foes’, our seasons are designed to inspire and delight children aged 4 and up, with regular 12+ screenings for teenagers.
Our cinema will be transformed to make children and young people feel welcome, with regular post screening workshops and activities led by artists and educators. Popcorn, healthy snacks and juice will be on sale and our bar open to parents. Kids’ Whirled is a great way to treat your family at an affordable price.
Membership for two people (one child + accompanying adult) is £35, which gives free entry to all screenings for the nine month programme. Additional tickets (child or adult) are £2.50 on the door.
Alternatively, tickets can be bought on the door (space permitting) at £4.50 for one child and one accompanying adult. Any additional tickets (child or adult) £2.50 on the door.
Please note that adults will not be permitted to the screenings unless they are accompanying a child.
