Cinema screenings for children to continue in Loughborough Junction

Kids’ Whirled has been awarded some funding which will allow it to continue screening family films and workshops for children on Saturday afternoons in Loughborough Junction.

The Film Hub London Community Screen Fund is designed to encourage cinemas to reach out to new or underserved audiences in London.

Parents and children alike have been loving the Kids’ Whirled screenings ever since they started last year. Here are some of the things members have been saying:

“Kids Whirled in Loughborough Junction has been lighting up the dull, wet weekends of winter every Saturday afternoon since it started. It is in a fantastic location, under a railway bridge and turns film into an exciting adventure and escape before the movie even starts..The programme is considered, entertaining and educational, drawing on cinema from across the world covering all sorts of themes that children (and their parents) will respond to. Film is a transporting experience and Kid’s Whirled reflects this totally doing justice to the medium and bringing a bit of magic to everyone in the audience. We love Kids Whirled!”

“It reminds me of the movies when i was growing up, and why I really appreciate quality cinema today.”

“Just brilliant to have it round the corner like our library and school and park.”

“One of very few opportunities in London to show different, interesting, not 3D blockbuster films to our kids.”

“It is a great part of the community that we feel privileged to have on the doorstep.”
