Living a fit and healthy life in Loughborough Junction

It truly was a partnership event when Loughborough Junction Action Group teamed up with the Corner Surgery and Herne Hill Road Medical Practice and its Patient Participation Group (PPG) to run a Live a fit and healthy life big health day recently.

The event at the Harry Caddick Centre, on Tuesday 25 November, was organised in conjunction with Guys and St Thomas’ Outreach team and Lambeth Warm and Well (Age UK Lambeth). It gave residents a chance to get a health MOT, have their blood pressure checked or talk to health professionals from other agencies.

There was benefits and debt advice from Every Pound Counts, as well as an energy efficiency talk, while Fraser Searle was illuminating with his tips for keeping warm through the chilly months.

The event was also a chance for people to get together, to share their five tips for a healthy mind on the Mind Apples Tree and to enjoy a tasty hot meal lovingly prepared by Ray from Sunshine International Arts Cafe – it truly was a wellbeing event. Thanks to everyone who helped make the day a success.
