Loughborough Junction speaks

Speech bubbles featuring the names of different languages outside The House in The Junction

Have you seen the colourful stencils covering the pavements in Loughborough Junction recently? Each one says “We live here” in a different language. Or perhaps you’ve walked past the end of Shakespeare Road and spotted a shop front covered in colourful speech bubbles featuring the names of different languages.

Known as “Loughborough Junction speaks” this is the latest offering from The House in The Junction and reflects the huge diversity of people that live and work here in Loughborough Junction.

The House in the Junction is an arts-based project that aims to create a sense of neighbourhood and bring more of a sense of identity to Loughborough Junction. Every two weeks a different “intervention” – like the stencils, the Valentine’s letter boxes or the popular wishing wall – appears as if by magic on the streets of Loughborough Junction. The ideas are developed in conjunction with local people.
