Thameslink are Recruiting for Access Advisory Panel Members

Given the state of our train service at LJ; there may be somebody locally who might be interested in putting themselves forward for this role, described here by Thameslink:

Dear stakeholder

This is a platform for your views

We need your knowledge and views to help improve the customer experience for passengers with accessibility needs travelling on Thameslink services.

We are recruiting three volunteer members for an Access Advisory Panel. As a regular passenger travelling on Thameslink services, this is your chance to review, feedback and help drive improvements in accessibility at a senior level within the organisation.

This important voluntary Panel brings together both staff and passengers travelling on Thameslink services. The Panel offers a unique forum where views can be shared and practical ideas for improvement can be put before senior managers. You will also have the opportunity to give advice and recommendations on customer strategy and business planning and there will be a small budget for self-generated projects.

The Access Advisory Panel will have a total of six volunteers, three of which have already been recruited. We want to ensure that the Panel represents as much of our network as possible and the needs of all passengers, regardless of their accessibility needs.

We are therefore specifically looking for passengers with experience of one of the following:

  • Passengers with hearing impairments
  • Passengers with physical disabilities
  • Passengers who work with or represent people with learning difficulties

Ideally, we are looking for a group of people who do not already have a channel of communication with Thameslink and Great Northern to ensure that we engage with the ‘everyday passenger’.

If you have constructive opinions and a desire to support and improve the customer experience for passengers with accessibility needs, please get in touch.

As mentioned above, this is a voluntary position and you will be required to attend an afternoon or evening meeting once every two months.

The deadline for applications is 9am Monday 21 November 2016. Applications received after this time will not be considered. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 29 November between 9-5pm. Please ensure you’re available to attend on this day.
